Open Question: She likes British New Wave from the 80s? What goes on iPod?
Mar 14th, 2010 by wood
She said in her profile on the on line dating service where we met that she's into British New Wave from the 80s. I started to make a list so I can get some CDs to upload on my iPod. She might have some CDs herself. But I like to be prepared in case we hit it off on the first date and she wants to come back to my car to "talk." I need to have the right audio setting to lure her back to my apartment. I am guessing. Elvis Costello, U2, the Police, the Jam. I like the Sex Pistols and hard core 80s bands but that's more punk than new wave. Flock of Seagulls, Psyche Furs. Any other bands or acts you can think of?

Open Question: What was childbirth like in Russia in 1890-1905?
Mar 14th, 2010 by wood

I’m playing Masha in Chekhov’s play “The Seagull” and therefore need to learn about childbirth in Russia from about 1890 to 1905. I’ve done some research so far but haven’t found anything substantial yet. I’d appreciate it if you could tell me a bit about the birthing process itself e.g. how painful it was for the women, if they tended to have home births or hospital births and any other information you may have. Thanks.

Open Question: I need help thinking of a short plot to follow this paragraph!!! Please answer!?
Mar 13th, 2010 by wood

This is the second time I have posted this but I didn’t get many answers so please answer, I need help.

My eyes blink open and I stretch; the house is pleasantly silent. All I can hear is the quiet swoosh of the waves outside. My bedroom overlooks the ocean and each morning I wake up to the sound of seagulls screeching over who gets the old sand-covered sandwich, the chip packet that still has some crumbs or some-other piece of abandoned food. Sometimes I think they squawk just for the sake of waking me up really early. I don’t mind though. I like the stillness of my house before my family wakes up. During the day my mum and dad’s arguing gets so loud that even hiding under my doona and turning my iPod up full blast can’t block it out. My sister Kristy doesn’t even stay at the house. She is always at parties or at her friend’s house experimenting with make-up and talking about boys. I can’t stick boys, especially my little brother Angus. He has scruffy brown hair and his face is usually sporting some disgusting accessory like dry snot or smeared vegemite. Usually I escape the house like Kristy does; only I don’t go to friend’s houses or the shopping centre, I run down to the beach.

>>> Problem is I don’t know what is supposed to happen. I have ideas but they are too long! This needs to be a relatively short story (about 800 words) and I can’t think of a good plot that fits within those word bounderies.
What do you think should happen?
Please answer I really need help…
Best answer 10 points!
i am in year seven btw so please nothing too advanced (eg – romance ect.)
thanks
